Dirtbomb

This bike sits atop our cross bike food chain. Truth be told, it started out in 1999 as our Groundskeeper model, but cross purists balked at running anything but a road crank on their cross bike and didn't see any reason to run a tire bigger than a 35c. So on the shelf it went until 2008 when we relaunched it as the Dirtbomb. But even then parts groups and tires weren't quite dialed in to the needs of a bike like this. So we massaged the chainstays to allow for compact road cranks (which allowed a full integrated road group to be used) and then Bruce Gordon reintroduced his 43c Rock 'N Road tire and WTB released their 40c Nanoraptor, both of which breathed new life into the concept. Now with disc brakes and 1x drivetrains the Dirtbomb is really hitting its stride.
